Doc talk

October 14, 2009 at 16:44 3 comments

I talked to quite a number of patients today. Among all the conversations, this was my favourite.

Me: Good morning.

Patient: AAAAAAHHHH!!!

Me: (earwax disintegrates) Uh. What is your name?

Patient: AAAAAAHHHH!!!

Me: Erm. OK. Who brought you to hospital? (Quickly covers ears in anticipation)

Patient: AAAAAAHHHH!!!

Me: Right. This is getting a bit predictable.

Patient: AAAAAAHHHH!!!

Nurse: (takes over) Was something disturbing you?

Me: (fingers in ears)

Patient: Hmm… I can’t really remember.

First, I am glad your conversation with the Junglelord went well. Second, I am currently watching an episode of “Glee” in which the club members have to perform mashups of songs. It occurred to me that your two most recent posts could yield a pretty cool mashup, something like:

Junglelord: Hello! Where did you go for your conference?
Junglelord: Which ward would you like to go to?
Junglelord: Okay. Would you like to stay on your current ward?
    (etc., etc.)

Ahahaha, I never cease to be amazed at how sharp your sense of humour is. :)

So – ward lunch, yes yes?

Why thank you! I love the idea of a ward lunch–count me in :)
