Encountered in my bowl of yong tau foo: fried fishcake with bits of cheese embedded in it. Whoever heard of cheesy fishcake? I must say, though, that it was quite delicious.

This is the kind of thing the Dutch do. If they don’t sprinkle cheese all over it or stuff it inside, they slather it with pesto but preferably, they’ll do both. This is quite weird when it concerns food with flavours of a more delicate or subtle flavour. Smoked salmon with hearty, garlicky pesto and mature cheese, anyone?!

Coincidentally, I had smoked salmon and beercheese spread on crackers for brunch today. :)

For some strange reason, purplejake, I haven’t been able to access your site for the past couple days. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that both my cats were manxes – one absolutely tailless and the other a partial-tailed stumpy. Hence the name of my blog. They were siblings and died within weeks of each other last year, when they were about 14. Don’t tell me your meow is a manx too!

Nah – my moggie is a common-all-garden tabby – cost €10 from a farm that smelt very strongly of wee!! She looks not unlike your avatar. Are you still having problems with my site?
