Utter Brilliance

I was completely pissed off by a very silly member of the staff during today’s departmental round. We were discussing the management of a difficult patient when this woman stood up and interrupted loudly with, “This is my feedback – that this patient is being managed wrongly. He bullies the staff and is very demanding. The treatment given to him is wrong, and that is why he is like this after all these years.”

I am summarizing, by the way; what she said was actually much longer and more repetitious.

Also by the way, she was from another ward altogether and had never managed this patient in her life.

Anyone would have thought, from her outburst, that she had some brilliant solution to the problem. But no. When asked if she had any suggestions to improve the patient’s management, she grandly declared, “I don’t know. You all are the doctors what.”

The eye-rolling doctors burst into laughter at the sheer stupidity of this. The silly woman then looked most pleased at having made her point so clearly and sat down, satisfied.

Hi Katie, I just found your blog because you posted about kites. I have just started my own blog this month (areyoureceivingme.com) and one of my posts (about kites) linked to yours. Fab! Drop by…
I was in Singapore for the first time last year and went to Funan with my family. I kept looking but just couldn’t find the shoe shops…
I like your blog – it’s a little bit different from all the others.

I very much enjoy the way you write! :) BTW if you want shoe shops, try the Orchard Road malls; Funan is more Techno-Ville. Let me know if you come by this way again!
