I have the green light to go ahead with the Manila conference. Yay! I had more-than-half-expected Junglelord to tell me that I couldn’t go, but then he called me to say that I could.

At one point he said emphatically, so I could hear the capitals, “If you return and feel unwell, DO NOT come to work, but STAY AT HOME and CALL ME. There may be SWINE FLU.”

Argh. I know. I hate people treating me as if I were a retarded child. It’s like the time my dad sat in the car when I was driving, and helpfully pointed out, “Katie, red light means stop, OK?”. Argh, argh, argh. Ever since that day, when we are in the same car, HE drives.

But I’m going to Manila! I love anticipating trips to places I’ve never been. Best of all, the flight is only about three hours long. That I can manage. I love travelling, but absolutely HATE flying, because it makes me motion sick.

Even though I won’t be there for long at all, I’m going to read up on the place and the hotel, and get my D90 and buy my netbook so I’m all set. Yes, I am a true product of my generation.
